Set in 200 acres (80 hectares) of parkland and woodland, the house overlooks its own lovely lake, Lough Hackett.

Set in 200 acres (80 hectares) of parkland and woodland, the house overlooks its own lovely lake, Lough Hackett. Elegance and comfort are the keynotes throughout the house. Bedrooms are elegant and spacious, with luxurious marble bathrooms. The drawing and dining rooms have stunning classical interiors; period furniture and log fires create an atmosphere of times past. Long windows offer fine views over the surrounding countryside. This a a wonderful venue for house parties, small weddings and all special occasions.

This house may be rented by the week or by the day (two night minimum).

First floor: Five double bedrooms, each with private bathroom.

Garden level (rooms on this floor are not so “grand” as those on the first floor): Bow-shaped rustic bar. Three double bedrooms, each with private bathroom (two are wheelchair accessible). One twin bedroom with private bathroom. The separate Pavilion Suite can accommodate two adults and has an ensuite jacuzzi. All bedrooms have TV, video, hair dryer and direct dial telephone. Fax and internet facilities are available by request.

House is let without staff although a cordon bleu chef and other staff can be provided at extra cost.

The estate's courtyard has two Victorian mews. Each comprises two king-size bedrooms, with en suite jacuzzi. An elegant staircase leads to a marbled hall, cloakroom, kitchen, dining room and drawing room with Regency stove. Both are furnished throughout with antiques and have under-floor heating.

Coarse fishing available in the grounds. Three superb golf courses within an easy drive, including the championship links course at Ballyconneely.Trout fishing and horse-riding can be arranged locally. Scenic drives to Cong (gateway to Connemara) and north to the Céide Fields, Ireland’s most extensive Stone Age site. Galway City, with its rich cultural and musical heritage, and its air and sea access to the Aran Islands, is a short drive away.
