This is a charming holiday home recently restored to exacting standards. It is located on five acres of landscaped and wooded gardens right on Bantry Bay. One of the best thing about this house is that is does not compete with the magnificent views. It invites them into every room.
An avenue of tall trees leads to the house, which is hidden from the road and perched close to the waters edge. You enter into a spacious inner hall with wood-burning stove and are immediately struck by the rich simplicity of the design and décor. Limestone and tiled floors flow throughout. To the right, is the kitchen, a wonderful large space with dining area and stunning views of the bay. The attention to detail extends even to the glass backed Aga cooker, which ensures that those with their backs to the window can still enjoy the view. The appliances (including a dish washer, two fridges and a separate freezer), are of the highest standard. There is an electric hob, double electric oven and Aga cooker. The atmosphere is one of informality - an ideal place for family and close friends. Accommodation information

Unfortunately, this property is not suitable for travellers with moderate to severe mobility or vision limitations. Although the garden is well tended, it has many stone steps to the various levels and access to the house from a car necessitates a little climb. Children will love this magical place but, due to proximity of water and uneven terrain, it may not not be suitable for children under six years. Older children will require supervision when out of doors. Price
