This simple cottage has been lovingly restored, and incorporates many traditional features such as low ceilings, steep staircase and a huge inglenook fireplace. Cosy, comfortable and welcoming, it is an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring in an area renowned for its spectacular scenery, excellent walking routes, sea, shore and lake angling, and rich archaeological heritage. A leafy lane leads to the pretty harbour village of Ahakista.

West Cork garden trail, fishing, water sports, pony trekking, golf, pubs and fine restaurants are all available in this area.
Visit the many prehistoric tombs and monuments on the peninsula. There is a wonderful 'Ring' drive starting outside Bantry, along the Goat's Path to Kilcrohane, then back through Ahakista (stop off at the Air India Memorial), and on to Durrus. Take a trip to Carbery Island to visit the seal colony or arrange a day's sea fishing. The town of Bantry with its stately home of Bantry House, Glengarriff and Ilnacullin gardens are all within easy driving distance.
