Traditional thatched cottage to rent in the Burren.
Located along the coast road in the town land of Murrough, this traditional-type cottage is ideally situated for a relaxing break, or an adventurous change.
The cottage is the heart of the Burren. Recently updated it includes modern convenience without compromising the traditional features of the building.
It has been in the same family for four generations, and now provides guests with a comfortable allbeit simple base from which to explore West Clare and the Burren. The house is split level.
Set in its own gardens with barbeque area, the cottage adjoins the owner’s 40 acre Alpaca farm and kitchen gardens.
Not surprisingly, the large kitchen, complete with electric and gas rangemasterAga, is the heart of the house. The separate dining room can seat eight. While retaining its atmosphere it has all the usual utilities such as microwave and dishwasher.

Amenities in the area
The cottage has beautiful views of the Aran Islands and the Atlantic Ocean, across the Burren and family alpaca farm. The local area has a wealth of things to see and do. The Burren is a "karst" landscape , of exposed limestone with fissures, caverns and sinkholes caused by erosion. In addition to the distinctive landscape, there are ring forts, Neolithic tombs and many caves. The area is famous for its flora, combining plants from the Arctic, Alps and Mediterranean areas. Locally there are the famous Cliffs of Moher - largest cliffs in Europe -and Aillwee and Doolin Caves, home of the worlds largest stalactite. Galway City with its wealth of shopping and eating areas is just an hour away.
