Spectacular full length gable windows with stunning views. The two wings of the house provide 10 bedrooms and each has a spacious living room where the gable window look towards Garnish Island and Bantyry Bay. The lush beauty of Garnish Island's famous gardens owe their luxuriance to the benign effect of the Gulf Stream. In the mild climate of the area sub-tropical tree ferns, scarlet fuchsia and giant eucalyptus flourish side by side with ancient oaks and gigantic conifers. Both wings are designed to blend perfectly with the glorious landscape of trees, meadows and water. Built of mellow local stone, the house makes full use of organic materials - even the roof insulation is in natural cork.

The house is entered from the highest part of the site through a glass corridor. The long hallway of the west wing drops seawards through three different levels and leads to the gorgeous living room. Nearly 80 meters square the room has fabulous views of Glengarriff Harbour and Garnish Island.

The local village is within walking distance. There are wonderful walks including the 55 mile Sheep’s Head Way, chosen as the best walk in Ireland by Country Walking magazine. The huge variety of terrain with beautiful views and many long and short loop walks make this a perfect region for exploring the Beara and Sheep's Head Peninsulas. The area is rich in prehistoric sites. Seal colony and sea fishing at Carbery Island, sandy and shingle beaches within driving distance and Ilnacullin Gardens are among the attractuions. Listen to Irish music and have a pint in one of the local pubs! Or just enjoy the peace and tranquility in this stunning location.
