Staying at magnificent Lismore Castle is a unique and 'once in a lifetime' experience. Here you will savour a life of sheer luxury at the most spectacular castle in Ireland. The property overlooks the Blackwater Valley, with views over rolling wooded hills to the Knockmealdown Mountains and is one of the most impressive castles in Ireland. Whilst being totally private, it is on the outskirts of the lovely Heritage Town of Lismore and a mere 200 yards walk to all its amenities. Once the home of Sir Walter Raleigh, this splendid castle has been the Irish home of the Dukes of Devonshire since 1753. The castle is available to rent with full staff under the careful supervision of Denis the butler. Guests stay in the Duke’s own splendid quarters in which princes, presidents, statesmen, celebrities and barons of industry have been entertained for centuries. Seven acres of award winning gardens include the remarkable yew walk where the poet Edmund Spenser was inspired to write 'The Faerie Queene'.

The castle is ideal for parties of up to 27 and is often used for family reunions or small business meetings. Functions can be arranged for up to 75 guests (notice required).

Ground Floor: Grand entrance hall; drawing room; two sitting rooms; dining room with seating for up to 27. Banqueting Hall for large receptions, seating up to 80 guests. Also on this floor there are three ensuite bedrooms (two double and one twin).

Lower Ground Floor: Billiard room. TV room. Games room. Three ensuite double bedrooms.

First Floor: Three ensuite bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Further double bedroom and one single room, with shared bathroom.

Fish for salmon in one of Ireland's premier salmon rivers or play a round of golf on the adjacent 9 hole golf course.There is a hard tennis court in the garden and several excellent 18-hole courses in the area. Horse-riding and fox-hunting (in season) can be arranged and there are racecourses within easy reach of the castle. For the less energetic there is a wonderful art gallery
with works by well known artists and delightful walks through the gardens.

Price depends on the level of service required and on the number of guests. Expect to pay in the region of €37,000 per week (for up to 12 guests). Supplement for each additional guest.
There is a two nights minimum requirement in the off peak season. Full staff, breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea are included in the rate.
