We have recently completed a gentle update with the conversion of the existing bathrooms to en-suite while retaining the original period details of the bedrooms. This fairytale 17th century castle stands on a private 450 acre island estate on the lovely waters of Upper Lough Erne in County Fermanagh. One wing of the castle is available to rent for your exclusive use. The blend of ancient grandeur and modern amenities combine to provide the last word in comfort and ambiance. Fine antiques and fascinating art works grace the main reception rooms, which include a banqueting hall complete with minstrels’ gallery. This lovely property is perfect for family vacations, reunions and intimate weddings and small business meetings. Gourmets may have the opportunity to enroll in the on-site cookery school.

Ground floor:
Guests pass through a magnificent double-vaulted entrance hall into an elegant drawing room with an open fireplace. The grand hall, a banqueting room that seats 50, has its own minstrels' gallery. Each of the eight bedrooms is uniquely decorated with antique or handcrafted pine furniture. Imposing stone-flagged double vaulted entrance. Large, fully-fitted kitchen, with Aga and farmhouse table (seats 10). Inner hall and cloakroom.

First / second floors:
The castle has 5 ensuite double bedrooms, 1 ensuite triple bedroom, 1 ensuite twin bedroom, and 1 twin bedroom with a dedicated bathroom

Option A: Two twin bedrooms (two single beds in each room). Two double bedrooms, one en suite. Four bathrooms.

Option B: As option A, with four additional bedrooms - two double and two single. Three additional bathrooms and one shower room. All baths have overhead showers.

Cleaning and cooking staff can be provided by prior arrangement, at additional cost. A number of self-catering cottages and apartments on the estate are also available.

Amenities in the grounds include all-weather hard tennis court (in the old walled garden), private coarse and pike fishing, shooting and stalking (advance notice required), boat hire to explore the lakes and islands, and walking in the surrounding countryside.

A wooden-built cruiser Trasna, accommodating up to 14 people, is available for hire with skipper, from June to September.

Attractions in the area are the town of Enniskillen, with its excellent range of shops and restaurants, the National Trust properties of Castle Coole, Florence Court and Crom. The magnificent beaches of County Donegal are approximately 45 minutes away, as is Belleek - home of the famous pottery. The Marble Arch Caves are 10 minutes by car.
