Gothic style castle available for short rentals one-four weeks. Up to 25 guests can be accommodated  in what are effectively “two castles”, the Castle itself and the newly renovated East Tower wing. Ideal for large family reunions and gatherings, celebrations and special events as well as small intimate weddings. You can rent the whole Castle or you have the option to just rent one part to suit your group size. The Castle sleeps up to 15 in eight  bedrooms and has six bathrooms. The East Tower sleeps 10 with three double rooms in the tower all with bathrooms en suite, and the clock suite with a double room and a twin single bedded room which share a bath and shower room en suite. Each castle is fully equipped with its own entrance, courtyard, hallway, dining room, kitchen and drawing room. Whether you rent all of the property or just one part you will enjoy privacy and authentic country house comfort.  Inside, the use of rich warm colors, acts as an antidote to the Irish climate. The fireplace in the entrance hall is especially welcoming in the winter months. The house is fully equipped to a high standard and is centrally heated.

Accommodation information:

Ground floor:
Entrance hall with fireplace and stairs leading to the upper floors. Comfortable drawing room with a working fireplace, several sofas and tall windows which take full advantage of the natural light.

The dining room is painted in warm red and has wooden floors and has a decorative fireplace (not in use). The mahogany table seats 18 comfortably.

A small sitting room with a TV and video player, games and toys provides a casual space for adults and children. There is one bedroom with ensuite shower room on the ground floor which is suitable for wheel chair access. There is a guest lavatory on this floor.

The kitchen with its terra cotta tile floors, large table for casual dining and old fashioned dresser, is off the dining room. The Aga stove is augmented by two conventional electric ovens; all the usual appliances are provided. The butlers pantry is adjacent and a door leads to the courtyard with its patio and gazebo. There is a back stairs from this area which leads to the bedroom floor.

Upper floors:

The castle accommodates up to 14 people in eight bedrooms. There are six double rooms ( two of which two can be either 6 foot doubles or twins with two single beds) and two single bedrooms.  There is additional accommodation in the Tower  (five bedrooms and four bathrooms) which is let with the main castle in the high season and may be let independently in the low season.

Amenities in the area:

Leisure facilities on site include full sized snooker / billiard table, table tennis, darts and a hard tennis court. There is a childrens’ playground at the organic farm where pigs and sheep roam freely. Golfers are well provided for with 18 hole courses in Newcastlwest, aCharleville and Adare. The Championship links courses at Ballybunion are just over an hour away. Horse riding can be arranged at Clonshire Equestrian centre in Adare or pony trekking in the hills above Abbeyfeale. More cultural pursuits are available at Lough Gur which has the largest stone circle in Ireland; in Limerick City and the Hunt Museum and at Bunratty and Knappogue Castles. Anglers will enjoy both the coarse and game fishing in the local rivers and lakes.
