This fine house is perfect for a family or small group of friends. In addition to the manor house there are three individual units on the private estate; offering in total accommodation for up to 40 guests. A truly magnificent setting of mountains, forest, lake and parkland; yet only 18 km (11 miles) from Galway City, capital of Ireland’s western province.
The luxurious main house dates from the 16th-century, and has an indoor heated swimming pool. The four bedrooms are elegantly furnished and superbly comfortable, with wonderful views of the lake or garden. The house is rented with staff. Originally, the property was owned by the Martin family, a celebrated member of which was Violet Martin who, as Martin Ross with her cousin Edith Somerville, wrote 'Some Experiences of an Irish RM', abbreviated in the TV series An Irish RMI.
One of the three additional units is the self-contained, self-catering wing with eight bedrooms. There are two cottags, one with six bedrooms and one with three bedrtooms..
8 guests inthe main house and up to 38 using all units.

Park Wing has a further eight bedrooms and is independent of the manor house. In addition to the wing there are two courtyard cottages available to rent. In total up to 32 guests can be accommodated in the wing and two cottges; 17 bedrooms (15 bathrooms) The wing and cottages are self-catering.
Not surprisingly, this is an ideal venue for family reunions, weddings and anniversaries.

Ross Castle is set on 120 acres of parkland. The grounds feature walled gardens, an orchard, inner and outer courtyards and a 16-acre park. There is a wide variety of specimen trees, and an unusual old greenhouse. A gardener's cottage and lime kiln are also worth a visit. The courtyard is enclosed by cottages built in the 16th, 17th and 18th century. The small private chapel has beautiful stained-glass windows and is ideal for intimate wedddings and renewal of vows. There is shared access to an indoor swimming pool, tennis court and the beautiful grounds.
Within 6.5 km (4 miles)- an 18-hole golf course, pony- trekking and Europe's largest free trout and salmon lake. Ideal touring base for Connemara. Boats to Aran Islands from Rossaveal.
