As you may know, in this part of the world, you can't rely on the weather! The playroom is the answer; it has a pool table, indoor soccer and other games. The area is rich in prehistoric sites. The peninsula also offers excellent touring by car. Seal colony and sea fishing at Carbery Island. Sandy and shingle beaches. Ilnacullin Gardens are a 'must see' for gardeners. Ferry trips take tourists to the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin and Hare Island. Other interesting places can easily be reached from Dunmanus Bay such as Bantry House and Gardens, Glebe Gardens and Fota House and Gardens. Guests might like to pay a visit to the city of Cork, which is less than two hours drive away and has two cathedrals, museums, galleries and an opera house pklus a wonderful enclosed food market.
