Description

Description:

This splendid serviced property is a privately owned estate the County Down countryside. Here, you are offered the exclusive use of 400 acres of Irish countryside along with the services you would expect from a five star hotel.  The original property was  build for the Earl of Moira, Lord Rawdon, in the eighteenth century and extended in later years.  Before his death the Earl of Moira planted 100,000 trees, collected from all over the world.  The estate changed hands in 1803 and again in 1910 when  the fifth Earl of Clanwilliam  purchased it for £20,000. During World War 11 US soldiers were stationed on the estate.

In 1994 the house was purchased by the current owners, who added a fine collection of Irish and European art and antiques. Georgian elegance combine with cosiness and unique charm to make each stay memorable.  Here, in this oppulent setting you can become the Lord or Lady of the manor with your personal butler on hand. With over 400 acres of natural woodland and park, you will be totally undisturbed wherever you chose to wander, while the manicured gardens provide the perfect setting for peaceful contemplation. On site there is tennis, boating, fishing and croquet.
