This magnificent manor house stands in its own 270-acre demesne overlooking the Irish Sea, in County Down, just 40 miles (64km) south east of Belfast Airport. It has been renovated to the highest standard , combining the graciousness of yesteryear with modern comfort and convenience.
The Italianate Palazzo style mansion has been in the Dunleath family for 170 years. It was built by the eminent architect Sir Charles Lanyon and has been afforded Grade A * listing as being of exceptional architectural importance. The house is surrounded by 30 acres of pleasure grounds and is situated within the walled demesne of some 270 acres. The total Estate runs to over 1200 acres and is home to one of Northern Ireland’s largest dairy herds. It also includes significant acreages of arable crops and mixed woodland.
Group Visits and Tours of the house and gardens may be arranged but must be prebooked. They may be personally conducted by Lord and Lady Dunleath and can be tailored to specific interests. After the tour, refreshments may be provided in the Conservatory. Please note, the house is not open to the public on a daily basis and tours or group visits are available by prior appointment only. From time to time small groups may stay as guests of the owners for a minimum of two nights.

National Trust properties at Mount Stewart and Castle Ward are only a short drive away. Portaferry provides a ferry link to Downpatrick, with its Cathedral and burial site of St Patrick, and onwards to the Mourne Mountains and the incomparable golf links at Royal County Down Golf Club. Shooting, sea angling, archery, falconry and other activities can be arranged with advance notice.
