Ireland is a paradise for golfers of all standards and boasts over 400 golf courses and one third of the world’s natural
It’s not surprising that we’ve produced more than our fair share of major winners; Rory McEllroy, Graeme McDowell,
and Padraig Harrington continue to do us proud, as have others in the past: Ireland’s legacy of golfing heroes goes way back.
Legendary and stunning courses include Royal County Down (ranked 6th in the world), Royal Portrush Ballybunion
Waterville, Portmarnock, Lahinch, Old Head, Portstewart and Dooks.
The famous Tom Watson said of the Old Course at Ballybunion “A man might think the game of golf originated here. It looks like
a course laid out on land as it was in the 10th century.” According to Bill Murray. "It’s the most beautiful country to play golf in.
And when you come as a guest, you’re treated like a king.”
Golf is a year round sport in Ireland although the best time to play is between April and October. June is especially inviting
due to the many hours of daylight which enable one to play two full rounds of golf and enjoy a pleasant lunch.
